Colorado DOW biologists studying mule deer aging

Regional wildife projects in Colorado funded by special licenses

The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and eight non-profit wildlife conservation organizations have selected more than $480,000 in wildlife projects that will be funded this year with proceeds from the sale of special auction and raffle hunting licenses in Colorado.

2008 big game hunting outlook in Colorado

Everybody, it’s been said, talks about the weather and Colorado big-game hunter are no exception. And though nobody, hunters included, does anything about it, as the 2008 seasons for elk, deer and pronghorns are beginning, discussions of the weather remain a vital part of the anticipation and planning for this year’s hunts.

DOW schedules three free archery clinics in Lamar

The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) will hold three free archery clinics at the DOW Office at 2500 S. Main in Lamar for adults or youth interested in learning more about the sport of archery.

Moose being relocated in the Gunnison area

On July 15 the Colorado Division of Wildlife recently started a new phase of its moose program with the release of a two-year-old bull moose in a remote area south of Gunnison.

The moose was transplanted from Utah where there is an abundance of the species in the northern part of the state near Ogden.

$1,000 reward in Trinidad, Colorado bear shooting

The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) has offered a $1,000 reward for information about a recent bear shooting in Trinidad. DOW officers want information about a 425-pound bear found dead in a yard between Colorado and Kansas Avenues Monday night.
